Parents Love Working at Pinnacle

December 02, 2021

Pinnacle Financial Partners continues to be one of the nation’s best employers for working parents. Today FORTUNE magazine and Great Place to Work® announced the firm earned the No. 41 spot on their list of 2021 Best Workplaces for Parents.

It is Pinnacle’s fourth consecutive appearance on the list, which is determined by anonymous employee surveys. The analysis focuses on the comparison between parent responses and non-parent responses.

“This honor confirms that our continuous efforts to be the best place to work in the Southeast are successful,” said Terry Turner, president and CEO. “It also confirms that we continue to be an employer of choice for people who expect more human connection and compassion from the company they work for so they can have greater sense of balance in their lives. Our firm’s policies, practices and benefits are all created with that in mind, but the real proof is in our associates’ lived experience as described in their own words.”

Eighty-five percent of the list evaluation was based on what parents say about their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential at work, no matter who they are or what they do for the business.

Among Pinnacle respondents to the Great Place to Work® survey, 98 percent say Pinnacle is a great place to work. One associate’s response included the following remarks:

“Pinnacle responded in a huge way during this pandemic. Having small children, I was never made to feel guilty that I wasn't in the office. I was treated like a human, a mother, and a valued member of the team.”

Comments on Pinnacle’s own third-party compiled work environment survey included observations from parents about the firm’s contribution to work-life balance:

“I have never been a part of a company that truly SHOWS and HELPS me maintain that balance. As a mom with 3 kids, that speaks volumes.”

“I appreciate the balance that the company allows me to have between my work life and home life. I appreciate the way our team works together if something happens with our "normal" schedule, everyone is willing to adapt and do what is needed to continue the office running.”

“The firm always gives us enough time to take care of our family members. It’s easy to balance work/personal life.”

Pinnacle gives new parents two weeks of paid leave in addition to allotted PTO and short-term disability. The firm also encourages flexibility so associates can attend to family matters. Though much of their work takes place face-to-face with clients, the firm supports job sharing, part-time status and working from home to help balance work and family commitments.

The Best Workplaces for Parents list is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work® and FORTUNE based on employee feedback from Great Place to Work-Certified™ organizations.
