Pinnacle is One of the Nation's Top Workplaces for Women

New ranking from Fortune and Great Place to Work® released today
September 15, 2017

Pinnacle Financial Partners is once again in the pages of Fortune magazine as one of the best places to work. This time, the firm placed No. 6 on the list of the nation’s Best Workplaces for Women.

The honor comes from Fortune and Great Place to Work®, who previously named Pinnacle the No. 7 Best Workplace in Financial Services and Insurance and one of the country’s best workplaces of any industry.

“It’s wonderful to know that our company is a place where women are treated equitably and feel like they have the same opportunities to excel,” said Pinnacle’s President and CEO Terry Turner. “But the truth is that our goals are the same for every associate – men and women alike. All anyone wants is to work for a company that cares for them and where they love coming to work. That’s what we’ve built at Pinnacle, and it’s what has allowed us to hire the best of the best and retain them at incredible rates.”

Female associates at Pinnacle outnumber their male counterparts by more than two to one at 1,547, including nearly 200 managers, supervisors or executives. The No. 6 ranking is based on survey results looking at how women rated the organization in more than 50 areas, including respect, fairness, management and camaraderie. The goal was to consider whether women have as positive an experience as the men of the company. That takes into account an index of factors where women often lag their peers, like access to meaningful work, fair pay and plans for a future with their organizations.

Among all companies on the list, 95 percent of women surveyed describe the organizations as a friendly place where they are proud to tell others they work. They are also five times more likely to plan a long-term future with their employers when they say they’re treated as full members of the team.

“Our titles, salaries and organizational structures are agnostic to gender, background and every other factor,” said Turner. “Everyone gets incentives. Everyone gets equity in the firm. Everyone is treated as an indispensable member of the team because they are. Simply put, if you’re good at what you do and the right fit with our culture, we want you working here no matter who you are.”

Pinnacle Financial Partners provides a full range of banking, investment, trust, mortgage and insurance products and services designed for businesses and their owners and individuals interested in a comprehensive relationship with their financial institution. The firm earned a place on Fortune’s 2017 list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in the U.S., and American Banker recognized Pinnacle as the sixth-best bank to work for in 2017.

The firm began operations in a single location in downtown Nashville, TN in October 2000 and has since grown to approximately $20.9 billion in assets as of June 30, 2017. As the second-largest bank holding company headquartered in Tennessee, Pinnacle operates in 11 primarily urban markets in Tennessee, the Carolinas and Virginia.
