Pinnacle is the Best Place to Work in South Carolina

May 04, 2021

Pinnacle Financial Partners was named the No. 1 Top Workplace in South Carolina in the medium-sized companies category by South Carolina Top Workplaces, as announced today by Greenville Business Magazine, Charleston Business Magazine and Columbia Business Monthly. It is the third time Pinnacle has placed in the state competition and the firm’s first first-place designation. Previous rankings were No. 5 in 2019 and No. 7 in 2020.

Pinnacle associates in South Carolina have consistently given their workplace culture high marks. They had this to say on the company’s annual anonymous survey in 2020:

“I appreciate my teammates so much. While we are not able to gather like the past the majority of 2020 the willingness of everyone to step up when needed and support each other has just been a shining example of everyone's commitment to our values.”

“I've never worked at a place where there is as much teamwork and common focus as with Pinnacle. It continues to be a breath of fresh air.”

“I appreciate how the firm values us as associates and this has never been noticed more than it was in the last several months. The flexibility that was allowed to parents in dealing with lack of childcare, school closures and the like was astounding and fantastic. I found it refreshing that I was not required to make a choice one way of another but was given the opportunity to be there for my kids and my family when they needed me most.”

“The idea that our clients can pick up the phone and talk to someone who can handle nearly any issue they may have, within three rings, is one of the most undervalued aspects of how we operate and just another reason why I am thankful to work for this company.”

“I appreciate being trusted and given the autonomy to do my job without having to hit widget goals.”

The firm’s vision from Day One has been to be the best financial services firm and the best place to work in the Southeast, and that’s only possible when associates are fully engaged in making it a reality.

“Pinnacle was founded with this very goal in mind,” said Mary Garcia, Pinnacle’s Regional President on the South Carolina Coast. “By being the best place to work for experienced financial services professionals, we attract and retain the very best in our industry. And associates who love their jobs tend to make clients happy.”

Upstate Regional President Ed Stein added, “As an employer, the firm sets the tone, the policies and the benefits, but it’s really our associates who maintain our best-workplace culture when they show up for each other and for clients every single day.”

The Top Workplaces list is based on anonymous employee surveys and research from Energage, a leading provider of employee engagement tools. The surveys measure several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, connection and more. Pinnacle’s survey was administered by Energage in January 2021, with 72% of the firm’s then 185 associates responding.

"During this very challenging time, Top Workplaces has proven to be a beacon of light for organizations, as well as a sign of resiliency and strong business performance," said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. "When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward. Top Workplaces draw on real-time insights into what works best for their organization, so they can make informed decisions that have a positive impact on their people and their business."
