Pinnacle Financial Partners is adding significant experience and expertise to its team in Roanoke Jonathan Richardsonby bringing Jonathan Richardson on board as a financial advisor. He will serve commercial banking clients from the firm’s main office in the region on Church Avenue downtown.

Prior to joining Pinnacle, Richardson spent his entire career at Wells Fargo and its predecessor banks. He joined First Union after graduating from Virginia Tech, starting as a commercial credit analyst and then serving as a senior relationship manager for nearly 15 years. Since 2012, Richardson led Wells Fargo’s 15-person middle market banking team with responsibility for all of western Virginia and West Virginia.

“Pinnacle’s reputation acts like a magnet for the very best bankers in our market. Jonathan is proof that they want to work here,” said David Allen, Pinnacle’s regional president for Southwest Virginia. “He is an outstanding professional who has worked all of his adult life supporting businesses here in the Valley. His track record of client service and leadership will build on our momentum and expand our firm to serve even more of our business community’s needs.”

“After doing some research when Pinnacle entered the market, I was intrigued,” Richardson said. “Additional discussions made it clear that Pinnacle is a perfect fit for the type of banking I want to do and for the clients in this community. The spirit of entrepreneurship and the model of service driven by associate ownership impressed me immediately. This is exactly the kind of team I want to be a part of and to help continue building. I am excited to play a role in Pinnacle becoming the top performing bank and corporate citizen in our community.”

Richardson earned his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech with a double major in finance and economics. He is active in the community through his longstanding service on the Boys & Girls Club Board of Trustees, as well as his volunteer efforts in the Cave Spring National Little League.

This new addition follows swiftly on the heels of Pinnacle hiring three other financial advisors in Virginia, including Ryan White as a commercial financial advisor for Lynchburg, Henry Caldwell as a wealth manager and Donna Elliott as a mortgage advisor.

Pinnacle Financial Partners provides a full range of banking, investment, trust, mortgage and insurance products and services designed for businesses and their owners and individuals interested in a comprehensive relationship with their financial institution. The firm earned a place on FORTUNE’s 2017 and 2018 lists of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in the U.S., and American Banker recognized Pinnacle as the sixth-best bank to work for in 2017.

Pinnacle entered Virginia in 2017 when it acquired BNC Bancorp. Pinnacle continues BNC’s practice of offering community bank service with the resources and sophistication of a larger firm.

The firm began operations in a single location in downtown Nashville, TN in October 2000 and has since grown to approximately $22.9 billion in assets as of March 31, 2018. As the second-largest bank holding company headquartered in Tennessee, Pinnacle operates in 11 primarily urban markets in Tennessee, the Carolinas and Virginia.
