Pinnacle Financial Partners has hired yet another veteran banker to serve commercial clientsBrian Redd in the Charlotte area. Brian Redd has joined the firm as a financial advisor for the commercial client advisory team. He will be based at Pinnacle’s main Charlotte office in Ballantyne.

“Brian arrived here a few years ago after being a top performer in Virginia, and he quickly established himself as a dynamic financial advisor known for client service,” said Rob Ellenburg, Pinnacle’s regional president for Southern North Carolina. “Bringing him on board helps us continue to build on our momentum of hiring talented and experienced bankers in a great market. They want to be part of the Pinnacle team and help us become one of the top financial services firms in Charlotte.”

Redd has 20 years of experience in banking and comes to Pinnacle from First Bank, where he helped get the bank started in Charlotte. He built a new book of business from scratch and grew it to tens of millions of dollars in just over a year. Before that, he spent 12 years at Bank of America serving dozens of clients and helping manage a team of bankers. He also worked as a business banker for Wachovia.

“Pinnacle is the kind of bank that will let me give my clients what they need and how they need it,” Redd said. “I’m excited to find a home here and return to my banking roots. The culture at Pinnacle is set up to help me deliver the kind of creative and personal service companies in Charlotte deserve.”

“All you have to do is look at the numbers to see this firm is doing something special in Charlotte,” Ellenburg said. “We brought on 13 top-tier bankers in 2018 and grew loans by more than 15 percent through the third quarter to nearly $1.8 billion. Hiring people like Brian is central to how that story continues.”

Redd earned his bachelor’s degree in political science at Ferrum College. He is an active volunteer in the community helping mentor at-risk youth at local schools.

Pinnacle Financial Partners provides a full range of banking, investment, trust, mortgage and insurance products and services designed for businesses and their owners and individuals interested in a comprehensive relationship with their financial institution. Pinnacle entered the North Carolina market in 2017 when it acquired BNC Bancorp, known locally as Bank of North Carolina. Pinnacle continues BNC’s practice of offering community bank service with the resources and sophistication of a larger firm.
