Pinnacle Financial Partners Names Shawn Hicks Office Leader

Pinnacle Financial Partners has hired Shawn Hicks as office leader for its planned full-service office in Decatur, which is expected to open in early 2026. Along with area manager Angie Casciano, Hicks will help lead the local team and build out the firm’s presence in Morgan County, focusing on serving families, professionals and business clients across the area.

“Shawn has been caring for clients in Decatur and North Alabama for a long time, and people here know him as a steady hand and a trusted voice,” said Jason Sullivan, area manager for Northern Alabama. “He understands the day-to-day realities for small business owners and families because he’s walked alongside them through good times and hard ones. That is exactly the kind of banker we want leading our Decatur office as we grow and deepen relationships across this community.”

Hicks comes to Pinnacle with nearly two decades of experience in banking and financial services, most recently as a branch manager at Regions Bank, where he led daily operations, coached associates and helped clients with lending, deposit and insurance needs. 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from the University of North Alabama and has also served in roles with the Alabama Emergency Management Agency and the Office of the Governor in Montgomery. In the community, Hicks is chairman of the board for Neighborhood Concepts Inc. and serves on the advisory committee for the North Alabama Revolving Loan Fund, where he reviews and advises on small business lending opportunities that support local growth.
