Pinnacle Financial Partners invests $2 million to support affordable housing in Jacksonville
New investment strengthens community development and expands access to capital
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Aug. 20, 2026 – Pinnacle Financial Partners has invested $2 million in the Jacksonville Growth and Affordability Partnership Fund (Jax GAP Fund), administered by Self Help Ventures Fund, to support affordable housing throughout the Jacksonville region. This investment represents another significant step in Pinnacle’s commitment to support communities through innovative financial partnerships that address critical local needs.
Structured as an equity equivalent investment (EQ2), the funding provides flexible, long-term capital that helps community development financial institutions increase their lending capacity. Pinnacle’s investment is part of a $20 million loan fund designed to offer low-cost loans to affordable housing developers. This additional capital will help finance an estimated $80 million in new, multifamily rental housing in Jacksonville while helping attract further investments and maximize community impact.
“At Pinnacle we believe strong communities are built on access to opportunity,” said Brenda Bellard-Harris, community engagement advisor for Pinnacle. “This investment reflects our commitment to the people and neighborhoods that make Northeast Florida such a vibrant place to live and work. By providing capital to support affordable housing development, we’re creating opportunities for more families to achieve stability, build wealth and thrive for generations to come.”
Pinnacle joins Northern Trust, the Jessie Ball duPont Fund and The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida as investors in the Jax GAP Fund, demonstrating a collaborative commitment to expand housing opportunities and support inclusive economic growth.
Pinnacle has made affordable housing a strategic focus within its community investment efforts. The firm, which combined with Synovus in January, has invested $12 million in affordable housing across Jacksonville and North Florida.
This level of investment reflects Pinnacle’s mission to put capital to work in ways that support people and expand opportunities. By investing in affordable housing efforts, the firm is helping families build financial stability, create a stronger foundation for wealth over time, and contribute to more resilient local economies for the future.
