Mobile area team expands as firm grows in coastal Alabama

June 16, 2026

MOBILE, Ala., June 16, 2026 — Pinnacle Financial Partners, which merged with Synovus, has named Chad Newton as senior vice president and office leader for the Daphne, Alabama, office.

Newton has more than 16 years of banking experience in Mobile and Baldwin counties and will serve Pinnacle clients along the Eastern Shore.

A graduate of Pensacola Christian College, Newton has supported financial education through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and served on the executive board of the Dumas Wesley Community Center.

“Chad’s strong leadership, deep market knowledge and clear understanding of how to build an office with consistent client care make him a valued addition to our team,” said Joey Butler, area manager for South Alabama. “He has earned trust across this market by serving clients thoughtfully and keeping the focus on what helps people make good financial decisions.”

Newton’s addition to the team reflects Pinnacle’s continued growth in the Mobile Bay region following the opening of new offices in Mobile and Fairhope earlier this spring. Pinnacle expanded into coastal Alabama in 2025 and continues to build its presence with experienced local bankers and new offices designed to serve clients across the market.

Pinnacle’s merger with Synovus closed in January 2026 with systems and brand conversions to be completed in March 2027. Until then, some locations in South Alabama will carry Synovus branding.
