Terry Turner's philosophy on others catching Pinnacle
It's a persistent question in local banking circles: Who will be the next institution to make a local mark in a big way?
The last one to do it — in terms of size and posing a threat in its own right to large regional banks — was Pinnacle National Bank. That could put a bit of a target on the back of Terry Turner, president and CEO of Nashville's largest locally based bank, but he insists he doesn't see it that way.
His reaction to questions about other local banks gunning for a top spot in the market, and how Pinnacle will compete?
"I am a big supporter of having (larger) locally based banks," Turner said in an interview this week. "I think it would be great for our city."
