Pinnacle expands in tough climate
Pinnacle Financial Partners has built a $500 million bank in Knoxville during a brutal recession - but it's not done yet.
That was the message from Terry Turner, president and CEO of the Nashville-based lender, and Knoxville president Nathan Hunter during an interview on Friday.
Pinnacle jumped into the Knoxville market in 2007, and focused on taking market share - and bankers - from its larger rivals. The move coincided with an upheaval in the financial-services industry, but by June of last year Pinnacle National Bank had the sixth-largest deposit share in Knox County, with 3.5 percent.
"It's been a real rewarding thing," Hunter said of the bank's Knoxville growth.
