Take Steps to Prevent Identity Theft

By Summer Yeiser, Office Manager for Pinnacle's Downtown Nashville Office

Identity theft is among America's fastest growing crimes. According to the latest figures from the Federal Trade Commission, 8.3 million (nearly 4 percent) of American adults were victims of identity theft in 2005. Fortunately, there are several actions you can take to protect your financial accounts from being hijacked. Click here for more.

Leathers and Herrington Recognized for Leadership

Pinnacle client Linda Leathers, CEO of The Next Door, was one of three panelists invited by the White House Office on Faith-Based and Community Initiatives to participate in its "Compassion in Action" Roundtable. The Next Door is a Nashville-based nonprofit that provides transitional housing and recovery support services to women in crisis situations.

Another Pinnacle client, Tennessee Bun Company CEO Cordia Herrington, was named "Woman Entrepreneur of the Year" by the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship at its annual conference earlier this month in San Antonio. She was also the keynote speaker of the conference.

Will the Fed’s recent rate cuts impact mortgage rates?

Home mortgage rates aren't directly tied to the Federal Reserve Board’s interest rate moves. Mortgage rates are attached to the yield on the U.S. government’s 10-year Treasury note.

A slowing economy already has tempered mortgage rates, and the Fed's dramatic action could provide an attractive reason to look into refinancing your homes, particularly if you have an adjustable rate mortgage or want to reduce your term.
