What can I do to stop the barrage of uninvited
Thousands upon thousands of loan applicants begin receiving uninvited mortgage offers, sometimes as soon as 12 hours after getting a mortgage quote. When you request a rate quote on a mortgage, the company checks your credit with one or more of the national credit bureaus. These credit bureaus then sell your information to third-party lead generators who target people who are shopping for a mortgage - a practice that some say fails to comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The good news is that you can opt out of such offers by going to www.optoutscreen.com. The site is run by the nation's four largest credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, Innovis and TransUnion). You'll be asked to provide personal information, but this information is confidential and used only to process the opt-out request. |

The ranking is based on June 2006 call report data filed with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC). Pinnacle had $480 million in small business loans, which is nearly double that of the No. 2 lender’s $244 million. None of the large regional financial institutions were represented in the list. |
